Description

This red engine valve spring compressor tool is specifically designed for Ford 4.6L and 5.4L 2V engines, including Romeo and Windsor versions. It allows for the replacement of valve springs, seals, or keepers without needing to remove the cylinder head from the engine block.

Instructions:

1. Preparation: Ensure the engine is at top dead center (TDC) for the specific cylinder you are working on to prevent the valve from dropping into the combustion chamber.
2. Mount the Tool: Position the red compressor plate over the valve spring and secure it to the cylinder head using the provided mounting bolts.
3. Alignment: Place the silver circular adapter piece directly onto the valve spring retainer.
4. Compressing: Insert the long center bolt through the red tool and into the silver adapter; tighten it slowly to compress the spring until the valve keepers are accessible.
5. Service: Use a magnet to safely remove the valve keepers, then back off the center bolt to release the spring tension.
6. Reassembly: Place the new spring or seal in position, then reverse the compression process to reinstall the keepers securely.

Precaution:

Always wear eye protection and ensure the valve is pressurized with air to keep it seated during the compression process.
